Back to school 23/08/2024

All of our services designed specifically for schools in the Dartford, Sevenoaks Tunbridge and Tunbridge Wells areas (numbered with a D, S, T or TW prefix) will restart on Monday 2nd September together with normal SDO (Schooldays Only operation) on our other local bus services in those areas. The only exception to this is that bus D3 will not restart until Thursday 5th September.

Our services designed for the school services to Skinners Kent Academy (route 234) will restart on Tuesday 3rd September.

If you have purchased a Travel Saver ticket from Kent County Council prior to the 11th August application date, these will be available from the schools in the first few days of term. Once received they must be scanned on each and every journey. If they cannot be scanned then a fare will need to be paid.

For late applications, we give a grace period until Thursday 12 September but after that a fare must be paid for each and every journey. Any non-receipt of Travel Saver tickets must be taken up directly with KCC as we have no control over their issue.

We will be running the same capacity buses in September as we were running last year but inevitably there will sometimes be situations where demand exceeds available capacity as we do not know specifically which buses students will use and cannot therefore plan accurately. Where we can we will direct customers to different stops or services to try and balance out the loadings and ease any capacity issues but we will not make any changes to increase capacity until the travel patterns settle down after a couple of weeks.

Please note that the purchase of a KCC Travel Saver ticket, or even one of our own season tickets, does not guarantee a seat (or sometimes even a place) on a particular bus or departure
