New Links created by new bus route Starting Monday 30th October 2023.

Starting Monday 30th October 2023.Route 3 will start from Sevenoaks Bus Station and will run via Sevenoaks Station, Riverhead Tesco, Dunton Green, Knockholt Pound, Halstead, Polhill Garden Centre, Pratts Bottom, Green Street Green and Orpington to the Princess Royal University Hospital at Locks Bottom.

It will run 3 times per day in each direction on Mondays to Fridays and will open up a number of new links for bus users. It will provide a direct bus service from Sevenoaks to Orpington as well as the ever popular Polhill Garden Centre and create a new link from Knockholt and Halstead direct to the PRU Hospital for the first time.

There will also be a schooltime service (numbered S3) which will provide additional capacity from Orpington, Halstead, Knockholt Pound, Dunton Green and Riverhead to and from Knole Academy and Sevenoaks to reduce overcrowding on the S32, S34 and S8 bus services with a return journey in the afternoon.

Buses on route 3 will charge the same fare as parallel TfL buses within the London area if paying by contactless card (£1.75) but otherwise there will be a flat fare of £3 for all other journeys. We regret that Oyster cards will not be accepted on this service but all ENCTS (Elderly) pass holders may use their passes free of charge after 0930. Our normal school fares will apply on route s3.

Buses serving Weald Village

From Monday 11th September

As most residents will be aware, National Highways are working on the A21 overbridge on Hubbards Hill which will cause it to be closed from Monday 11th September 2023.

It will not be possible for any buses to serve the bus stops on Hubbards Hill or Weald Road for the duration of these works which are likely to last until mid-December.

Buses on routes 5, s5 and 401 (Sundays) will serve Weald Village by double running into and out of Weald via Morleys Road.

The T3 service will run about 10 minutes earlier than now in the morning between Knockholt and Riverhill and will be diverted to serve Weald Village in both directions to provide extra capacity and there will also be a separate shuttle bus numbered S5W which will leave Weald Village at 0700 and run to Hildenborough Church to connect in with Arriva services on routes 402 towards Tonbridge or Tunbridge Wells. In the afternoon, the S5W will leave from opposite The Flying Dutchman at 1640 to Weald Village, with connections from the 402B at that point.

We are sorry for the inconvenience we know these contingency measures will cause.
